Calmer, an anxiety support goup
Living with anxiety can often feel isolating, but you don't have to face it alone. Our fortnightly Anxiety Support Group offers a safe, confidential and supportive space where you can develop new ways of coping, and move forward with the support of both experienced counsellors and fellow group members.
-
The group is held in a warm, welcoming and non-judgemental setting. You will never be pressured to speak before you feel ready, and participation is always at your own pace. The counsellors will guide discussions, introduce topics relevant to anxiety, and encourage members to reflect on their experiences while learning from one another.
You can expect:
A confidential and respectful environment.
Support from experienced counsellors.
Opportunities to share experiences if and when you feel comfortable.
Practical strategies for managing anxiety.
Time for reflection, discussion and mutual support.
A sense of belonging and connection with others facing similar challenges.
-
Group therapy can be a powerful way to work through anxiety. Many people find comfort in discovering they are not alone in how they feel. Listening to others' experiences can provide new perspectives, reduce feelings of isolation, and offer hope for positive change.
Research has shown that therapeutic groups can help participants:
Build confidence and self-esteem.
Develop healthier coping strategies.
Improve communication and interpersonal skills.
Reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation.
Increase self-awareness and understanding of anxiety.
Experience encouragement and support from others who genuinely understand.
As trust develops within the group, many members find they become more confident both within the sessions and in their everyday lives. The shared experience of giving and receiving support often becomes an important part of the healing process.
Whether your anxiety is something you've lived with for years or has developed more recently, this group offers an opportunity to explore your experiences, develop new ways of coping, and move forward with the support of both experienced counsellors and fellow group members.
-
Group therapy offers a high-quality, affordable alternative to individual counselling. By sharing the therapeutic space with others experiencing similar challenges, participants can access professional support at a lower cost while still benefiting from the guidance of qualified counsellors.
Alongside its emotional and psychological benefits, group therapy is an effective way to receive ongoing support, learn practical coping strategies, and build resilience in a safe and supportive environment. Many people find that the combination of professional facilitation and shared experiences makes group therapy both valuable and cost-effective.
-
The group will be facilitated by Emily and Erika who both qualified counsellors. They will provide a supportive and professionally guided environment where everyone has the opportunity to be heard. Having two facilitators allows for greater support within the group, helping to ensure that discussions are held safely and that each member feels valued and included.
